Tracie von Arx Delmar DE Obituary, Cause of Death: Husband, Lary von Arx and Wife Died in Murder–suicide, Children left broken

A tragic murder-suicide has left a community in shock and a family devastated after a husband fatally shot his wife before taking his own life. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit responded to the distressing incident early Thursday morning, March 13, 2025.

Authorities arrived at a residence in the 10000 block of Country Grove Circle at approximately 9:18 a.m. following reports of a death investigation. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a 42-year-old woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and a 56-year-old man with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims have been identified as Tracie von Arx and her husband, Lary von Arx. The Delaware State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident but have confirmed it as a case of murder-suicide. Originally from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Lary was an operations manager at Plymouth Tube Co.

The couple leaves behind grieving children, who now face an unimaginable loss. Friends and family describe Tracie as a kind and dedicated individual, while Lary was known for his strong work ethic.
