Hunterdon County Business Owner Cheryl Okie and Husband Robert Okie Die in Tragic Murder-Suicide, Clinton, NJ The community is mourning the devastating loss of Cheryl Okie, 35, the beloved owner of The Wild Iris flower shop in Clinton, New Jersey, who was tragically shot and killed by her husband, Robert “Rob” Okie, 36, in what authorities have confirmed as a murder-suicide.
The horrific incident unfolded late Monday night at the couple’s Pennsylvania home. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a distressing 911 call was received around 10:20 p.m. from a crying woman, with a man yelling in the background. While officers rushed to the scene, gunshots rang out.

Troopers arrived to find Cheryl Okie deceased from a gunshot wound, while Robert was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A Life Cut Short
Cheryl was a florist, entrepreneur, and Licensed Practical Nurse, known for her passion for flowers and helping others. She attended Pocono Mountain West High School and trained at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County.
She was not just a business owner but a cherished member of the Clinton community, touching lives through her artistry at The Wild Iris and her caring nature.
Her obituary described the tragic event as a “violent domestic attack,” stating that her husband of seven years “inexplicably” took her life.
A Devoted Mother and Beloved Friend
Beyond her career, Cheryl was a loving mother to three children, aged 12, 6, and 4. – GoFundMe.

Services for Cheryl Okie will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
