Amanda Buss Easton PA Obituary, Cause of Death: Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley Executive Director Dies Unexpectedly

Amanda Katherine Buss, a lifelong Lehigh Valley resident, passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 47, after a courageous 19-year battle with breast cancer, including 15 years of metastatic breast cancer. Her life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and unwavering determination, leaving an enduring legacy of service and inspiration.

Born in Easton, PA, on February 9, 1978, Amanda was known for her infectious smile, positive outlook, and adventurous spirit. She was a connector, bringing people together and making everyone feel valued. A graduate of Phillipsburg High School, where she set a basketball free throw record, Amanda continued her education at East Stroudsburg University. As a Stateliner and an ESU Warrior, Amanda embodied the spirit of her teams. Her competitive drive fueled her fight against cancer.

Amanda dedicated her life to serving others. She worked as a passionate advocate for underprivileged children, individuals with special needs, and those affected by cancer. Her professional career was defined by her ability to merge her social work training with her deep desire to help others.

Most notably, Amanda served as the Executive Director of the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley. In this role, she demonstrated exceptional leadership, significantly increasing fundraising efforts, expanding community outreach, and raising the organization’s profile to unprecedented levels. Her tireless work provided crucial support and resources to countless individuals and families facing the challenges of cancer. Amanda was a staunch advocate for people with cancer, as well as the underserved.

Amanda is survived by her beloved daughter, Madalyn Buss; her mother, Sherrie Fye-Kelly, and her husband, Patrick Kelly; her father, William Buss; her separated husband, Mark Sivak; her sister, Heather Altieri, her husband Ron, and their children Brenna and Brayden; maternal grandparents Marylou Marazi and her partner Lee Kelly, Richard Fye and his partner Nancy Costenbader, and Elizabeth Kelly. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Maribelle and Arthur Buss Sr., her half-brother, Brandon Buss, and Peter Kelly.
